The guy is correct.
Its not about all the little details - you guys either put in, or simply decide to ignore. Its very simple.
Say you buy a model, and you (for the sake of argument) pay monthly for the privledge of showing it off. So, you go ahead and get the service, and sent to you is all the pieces. You spend the first month putting it all together, and arn't able to do much until later with your actual model, when the most basic peices are in place.
Low and behold, the manufacturer realizes how silly this is, and days later after the consumer makes his purchase, decide to prebuild these basic pieces, therefore letting any new customers have a head start.
Like Veni, I agree this is a great feature! On the other hand, the problem is it steals money from those who paid for those 800k sp (the first month, and the time it took to skill them), vs those who get it free right from the start.
It is as simple as that. You may say, "Its not that much" or get it down to the number of days it takes to get 800k sp, or what benifit is actualy gained by those 800k sp, but that is all IMMATRERIAL.
The fast is new users get free SP and I paid REAL MONEY for my 800k sp. Thats not right in my book, especially since, for CCP, it only takes a few clicks of a mouse to give everyone the 800k they deserve.
I dislike this as much as I dislike paying for a service for years from a seller, who gives promotions to new users, and nothing to those whom they've made thousands already. Especially when it only takes a such little effort to balance it all out.
Veni, for what its worth, I feel your pain. That along the fact I've paid for other things in EVE (by time paid in months) and only now realize they have been buged for years and don't even work to today. And who knows WHEN if EVER they will work properly.
Veni, you lost cash on this game already, and, depending on what else you want to do in EVE, you'll lose more cash on thier bugs. Read around.
Personally, I feel the pain that it takes CCP to make everyone happy. Its a hard job vs so many users. Secondly however, what there comes a point were a line needs to be drawn. Like I said in another thread, EVE has to deliver on some basic principles. Temporary bugs are ok, but not simples bugs ignored for years. And muchless, some indication of direction.
Do you buy stock from a company who has no plans to benifit the stock holders? NO?! Any banker would laugh at you.
I paid for a 3 month subscription. That gives me time to try what I want to try myself vs other peoples complaints. If drones don't work, I may just leave. Or I may live with it. Depends on how well they work if at all.
I, like you, would like at least 'token' response from the guys I give my $$$ every month.
Unfortunatly the very way it just may work is- Life is tough, CCP doesn't care. They get your cash, and you either keep palying or you don't. As long as they get $$$ from 149,999 other users, you just don't matter to them.
So you either play becuaseyou accept these conditions, or you don't becuase they violate your conscience or just plain isn't worth the money.
I have to make the same decision soon in the next few months.
CCP, I'm rooting for you, but give me something to work with. A private email will do.. Anything...
